Job Description

Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire are a provider of Respite support to Carers and the people they care for, working throughout the region. We also provide an Emergency Intervention and prevention provision in the Kirklees district, to support Carers who may have reached crisis, may be too unwell to maintain their caring role due to short-term illness, have a personal emergency or need short term support to facilitate a hospital discharge.

Our Emergency Care Support Workers (ECSW) work with families up to 12 hours a day. During this time the ECSW complete a support plan and risk assessments, support the client with whatever they need. During this time the ECSW will also look at other ways the family may need support and make referrals to relevant agencies.

The Role: Working a Pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off from 8am to 9pm. Working throughout Kirklees district with clients in their own home.  When you are not on an Emergency call you will be based from our Huddersfield office catching up on paperwork and supporting the promotion of the organisation’s services.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Social Care and
  • Will hold a minimum Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification
  • Experienced in preparing Support plans and risk assessments
  • Be willing to travel anywhere within the Kirklees district
  • Hold a full UK Driving licence and your own vehicle insured for business use
  • You will have experience with a range of IT products including Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
  • You will be a caring person who understands the needs of Social Care clients and be familiar with other Kirklees Professionals and organisations involved in the social care sector.
