EMERGENCY CARE SUPPORT WORKER

Job Description

Carers Trust Mid Yorkshire are a provider of respite support to unpaid carers and the people they care for, working throughout the West Yorkshire region.

As part of our work in the Kirklees district, we provide an Emergency intervention and prevention provision, to support unpaid carers in their hour of need.  They may have reached crisis point, they may be too unwell to maintain their caring role due to a short-term illness, they may have a personal emergency or they may need short term support to facilitate a hospital discharge.

Our Emergency Care Support Workers (ECSW) work with families for up to 12 hours a day. During this time the ECSW completes a support plan and risk assessments and will support the client with whatever is needed. During this time the ECSW will also look at other ways the family may need support and make referrals to relevant agencies.

The Role: 

This is a full-time position working a pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off.

Working throughout Kirklees district with clients in their own home, when you are not on an emergency call you will be based from our Huddersfield office catching up on paperwork and supporting the promotion of the organisation’s services.

Salary for this role is:  £25,334.04

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Social Care
  • Will hold a minimum Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification
  • Experienced in preparing Support plans and risk assessments
  • Be willing to travel anywhere within the Kirklees district
  • Hold a full UK Driving licence and have your own vehicle insured for business use
  • You will have experience with a range of IT products including Word, Excel, Outlook and databases.
  • You will be a caring person who understands the needs of Social Care clients and be familiar with other Kirklees Professionals and organisations involved in the social care sector.
